Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, Zarqa Technical Intermediate College organized, on Thursday May 15th, 2024, the activities of the first scientific conference entitled “Technical Education and Space Technology in Serving the Sustainable Development Goals,” with the participation of researchers from various Countries of the world.
The opening ceremony of the conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, the President of Zarqa University, Brigadier Engineer Muammar Kamel Haddadin, the Director General of the Regional Center for Teaching Space Science and Technology for West Asia, Prof. Dr. Zaid Al-Anbar, the Vice President of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, Engineer Samer Zawaideh, the President of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Prof. Dr. Firas Hanandeh, the President of Ajloun National University, the Vice Presidents and Deans of Faculties at Zarqa University, and the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Engineering Technology.
The opening ceremony of the conference included scientific remarks by Brigadier General Engineer Muammar Kamel Haddadin about the center’s tasks and objectives and its connection to space science and serving the goals of sustainable development, and remarks from Prof. Dr. Zaid Al-Anbar about developing the instructions and foundations of technical education in Jordan.
Prof. Dr. Ghaida Abu Rumman, Dean of Zarqa Technical Intermediate College, said that organizing the conference, with its important titles and various scientific sessions, is a meeting of leadership and innovation, and opens dialogue and discussions between a distinguished group of scientists and researchers in technical education and space technology and using them to serve the goals of sustainable development.
She stressed that the College keeps pace with development by holding conferences and scientific days, and works to contribute to advancing the educational process and community service and development, noting the importance of the continuous support of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zarqa Education and Investment Company, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, and his tireless efforts in developing and supporting the Faculty’s scientific process, and keeping pace with developments in various educational means.
The conference agenda included a main session in which the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology for West Asia, Dr. Hisham Khreisat, and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Regional Center for Space Science and Technology for West Asia, Dr. Alaa Al-Nahri, as speakers, and it was moderated by the Dean of Zarqa Technical Intermediate College, Professor Dr. Ghaida Abu Rumman.
The first session included scientific interventions on technical education, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence for space science and achieving sustainable development goals, while the second session specialized in topics of technical education and renewable energy technology for space science and achieving sustainable development goals.
At the end of the opening ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Educational and Investment Company, sponsor of the conference, honored the keynote speakers at the conference.
